David is 55 years old and has worked for some of the largest Ad Agencies in the Country. He has created story boards for Vlasic, Chrysler, Chevrolet and many others. When our economy took a turn for the worse, David lost his job. Eventually he lost his home and car. David had been homeless for over 2 years. In July of 2014 David walked through the doors of our Mitten factory, suitcase in tow, looking for work. It didn't take long to realize that David did not fit the general stereotype of what society might think of someone who is homeless. ...
Miss Michigan 2014 takes her Michigan Mittens on the road
KT Maviglia, Miss Michigan 2014 took her Michigan Mittens with her to visit the Special Olympics in Traverse City last week. She sent us this wonderful photo that captured the hearts and smiles of two of these very special Olympians. Earlier this winter KT also visited our State's Capitol to meet with Lieutenant Governor, Brian Calley to Advocate for those with Hearing Disabilities. Our thanks for KT for all of her hard work in promoting our Great State and for choosing to take Michigan Mittens along for the ride!
Most Flannel City? The U.P. ...You Betcha!
When Duluth Trading Company asked the question "Which U.S. City is the most Flannel"? Fans answered and although the Michigan's Upper Peninsula is not a city, it was the clear winner! Peggy, the owner of Positively in Escanaba approached us shortly after the news broke and asked to collaborate with us on a Flannel design for our Mittens. Of course, we were excited to create them and offered them as a Positively exclusive in 2014.
